You Need the Lifting Equipment in Weeks, Not Months

A vessel mobilisation is approaching. Equipment is waiting. The installation window is fixed. And somewhere in the project, a lifting tool, frame, winch or handling system is still missing.

The deadline may be short. The technical requirements are not.

Fast-track starts with the critical path

When time is limited, doing everything faster is rarely the answer. The first job is identifying what actually controls delivery.

Long-lead components, design approval, material availability, welding requirements, machining, NDT, load testing and documentation all affect the sequence differently. Get that sequence wrong early, and valuable days can disappear before fabrication has even started.

GravityX brings engineering, procurement and fabrication planning together from the start — so the project can move while there is still time to influence the schedule.

Compliance cannot wait until the end

A lifting frame can be fabricated quickly and still be unusable if the documentation behind it is incomplete.

Depending on the application, the project may involve NORSOK or DNV requirements, material traceability, approved welding procedures, qualified personnel, NDT, inspection, testing and certification. These requirements need to be understood before steel is cut.

Fast-track execution means building the documentation and verification route into the job from day one, rather than trying to reconstruct it before delivery.

Capacity can be mobilised

A tight deadline does not always mean the required industrial capacity is unavailable. Sometimes the right engineering team, fabricator, machining capacity and specialist suppliers simply sit in different companies.

That matters when one workshop can fabricate the structure but cannot meet the machining date, or when a critical component threatens the entire schedule.

GravityX can mobilise suitable Norwegian engineering and fabrication capacity around the project and manage the interfaces as one delivery.

The expensive part may be waiting for the equipment

The fabrication cost of a lifting tool can be relatively small compared with what happens when it arrives too late.

A vessel alongside, an installation team waiting to mobilise, equipment occupying valuable deck space or a maintenance operation pushed into another window can turn a delayed component into a much larger project problem. At that point, saving a few days matters.

This changes how a fast-track lifting project should be executed. Engineering may need to release approved fabrication packages in stages. Available material can influence the design. Purchased components should be identified before the design is completely frozen, and inspection activities need to be booked around fabrication rather than after it.

None of this removes the need for control. It requires more of it. GravityX takes responsibility for coordinating the engineering, fabrication, suppliers, inspection, testing and documentation needed to move a lifting project from an urgent requirement to a deliverable piece of equipment.
